UFO over Manhattan Caught on Tape
Was Mystery Shiny Object Superman? Balloon? Looking for Its Mother Ship?!
-
The UFO that has New Yorkers buzzing (CBS)
Dozens of people were stopped in the middle of the sidewalks of the Chelsea neighborhood on Manhattan's West Side, looking up in the sky.
One speculated it was a balloon, another joked that it was Superman or Superwoman, and yet another wondered whether whatever it was was simply "looking for the mother ship!"
The city says its 311 help line got dozens of calls about the object.
And city officials haven't provided any answers about what it might have been - though they're said to be leaning toward the balloon camp.

- Talk about performance art...U-FOOL-ogy strikes again. Its telling when the guys shooting the video say in the background..."its balloons, its definitely balloons". So folks, take some aluminized mylar ballons, get yourself some helium from the gift shop, go out the day the UFO visitation is predicted and have some fun watching the media accounts of UFO's. This area is so full of BS and hoaxing its pathetic. If you really want to understand the full scoope of the real phenomena as well as the BS read the books by Jacques Vallee starting with Passport to Mangonia. Vallee is the real deal scientist whose work helped form the basis of Steven Spielbergs "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", and any book on the subject written by him will not disappoint. If CBS really wants to do it up right it should do a documentary series with Vallee as host and writer that would be as significant as Jacob Bronkowski's PBS series "The Ascent of Man". Vallee would lay out all the good, bad and down right fradulent associated with the UFO phenomena including the U-FOOL-ogy part. Think about it. You'd get the worldwide audience.

- So what happened to it? Did the "objects" stay there, float away, fly off rapidly? THAT would be interesting to know. If it shot off out of sight, then that wouldn't be a balloon. I agree they look like balloons though.
